Founder & Head Trainer of Take the Lead, Inc. — more than 20 years of professional canine training experience.
Take the Lead, Inc. was formed in 2007 by head trainer Patricia A. (Pat) Czaikowski. Pat has more than 20 years of experience as a canine trainer, and her approach is simple: build a relationship between dog and owner based on communication, trust, and respect — not just obedience for its own sake.
Pat served as Senior Lead Instructor for a canine obedience training school in West Grove, PA, for 10 years under Virginia (Ginny) Dorsman, who was certified by the National Association of Dog Obedience Instructors (NADOI). She specializes in puppy behavior and is qualified and experienced in temperament testing of puppies for breeders placing pups in compatible homes.
She also served as Training Director for a major pet supply chain headquartered in Wilmington, DE, planning and organizing the canine training program and training instructors and assistants company-wide. Pat has experience as a handler in AKC-sponsored Dog Conformation Shows, and currently works as a handler with her certified Therapy Dog, "Holden" (Ch Folklore's Fantasy Tour CD, BN, GN, RE, CGCA), who is certified with the Alliance of Therapy Dogs (ATD).
American Red Cross certified Pet First Aid and CPR, ensuring every class and lesson is grounded in safety.
American Kennel Club S.T.A.R. Puppy, Canine Good Citizen, and Community Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.
Proud member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, membership #69004.
Pat continually invests in her craft, learning from some of the top names and organizations in canine behavior and training.
